Enjoy this conversation with the all-in-one business and career coach, mindset expert and spiritual advisor. Courtney Parks teaches us the real meaning of Success Without Exhaustion and how to recognize and break through internal barriers that may be holding us back from truly living into our highest potential. In this episode we discuss:

  • Courtney shares her story of how she transitioned from traditional psychotherapy to creating her own positively-focused coaching program to help women love what they do without burning out in the process.
  • How aligning your head with your heart is where the magic happens to allow us to move through limits and challenges with more ease.
  • How work and career can actually compliment your life instead of getting in the way of living it.
  • Recognizing and moving on from the “no pain, no gain” mentality and other hidden money beliefs that might be holding us back.
  • How to tell if you’re being redirected by the Universe vs having a limiting belief.
  • Understanding our internal protective mechanism and how to work with it and manage it at a healthy level as we level up in an area of our lives.
  • Embracing who you are and how you are because this is exactly how you’re designed to have success.

Fostering healthy development and wellness of kids by empowering them through nature-based play with Brenda Richards-Episode 003

Can overemphasis on keeping kids safe actually be causing more harm than good? This episode highlights how much has changed in the level of freedom and childhood experiences over the years and the long term implications that may result. This is a conversation with Brenda Richards, an occupational therapist who offers a program called Timbernook. The program uses nature-based play experiences to foster mental, emotional and physical health to kids of all abilities. We discuss:

  • Some of the challenges in the current environment of allowing kids more responsibility and freedom to roam
  • Whether the crime statistics match current perceptions
  • Brenda’s story of how she transitioned from working in a nursing home to opening her own private practice working with children
  • How a current trend in deficits of “typically developing” children may correlate with how kids are being raised including Container Baby Syndrome, safer playgrounds and a lack of unstructured, unsupervised outdoor play experiences
  • The benefits of mixed age group play and healthy risk taking
  • The hygiene hypothesis and other research of the benefits of outdoor play
  • What the Timbernook philosophy and experience is and how it can benefit kids in the current climate
